My dear followers,

To introduce myself, my name is Sophia Touvanna, and I am 20 years old. Half Cypriot, Half Russian.

A few facts about me…

I grew up as an only child, but now have a 5-year-old sibling. I’ve lived in Cyprus my whole life, yet that hasn’t stopped me from travelling at least twice a year. From primary to high school, I studied at the Falcon School in Nicosia. This consequently made me live in what I consider a social bubble. On the other hand, I was privileged enough to have the opportunities to learn languages and participate in inter-school activities. I used to swim for 10 years, till COVID. However, I was not passionate enough to carry it on afterwards. In my free time, I try to go to the gym, read, cook and bake, or even gently reignite my game addiction. If we want to get specific, I’d switch between life-sim games or FPS games, with the exception of a few indie games and LoL. COVID took a toll on my laptop, as my WASD, T, and backspace keys are on life support.

I love food, sweet and savoury. I try to balance my student, work and ‘real’ life, with quite a bit of that ‘real life’ trying new foods. The best and most exciting foods to try are abroad. Quite a great amount of my budget is spent abroad.

As someone who grew up chronically online, I realised I had to reduce my addiction to playing video games at the age of 15 in 2021. I didn’t want to study more, I didn’t want to do more chores. Even though I enjoyed sitting at my laptop, COVID had me sick of being constantly at home. What else could benefit me if I didn’t sit at home? A part-time job.

I want to share my experience, in hopes that someone could find it relatable or even motivate someone to attempt to work part-time as well.

I have worked 3 jobs in 4 years. However, simultaneously, I was a student. Luckily, I am still a student at the University of Nicosia. You can check my journey throughout my blogs, and if you need any advice or have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me through my Contact Me page!
