Peak working time for students is summer and Christmas holidays, there is no question of ‘Can I work and be a student?’.
It is the best time in terms of being able to make friends and connections, improving your social and customer service skills to the max. They are the busiest periods of the year, but you have many people to get through it with. I strongly encourage the people who don’t believe enough in being able to work during the school year to work at least one summer. Christmas holidays are a bit harder, but the double pay holidays can motivate you.

Luckily for me, most of my work friends weren’t just seasonal part-timers – but full-seasoners. This is a bit bittersweet since you say bye to the people who don’t want to work during the year for their own reasons, but you stay with people of various ages. Through those people, I got advice on dealing with school and the experiences they went through at my age. This is a benefit of minimum wage jobs. There are people in different parts of their life that have the same job as you for different reasons, allowing you to get an insight into the diversity that society has – popping the bubble.
During the year, usually twice, McDonald’s took its employees on trips. A beach trip or a trip in the mountains. COT in Larnaca, barbecue on the beach. Platania, with its fresh mountain breeze, at a local hotel. However, I was lucky enough to be there when they organised a football competition between the stores for prize money. I didn’t participate, but definitely a fun watch! Very competitive atmosphere.

Point is, depending on your workplace, there may be some invisible benefits that come along the way.
Without a doubt, I would suggest that every teenager have either a summer or winter experience at a part-time job. It’s a lot more popular than you would assume, and many jobs are okay with part-timers working for 3 months. To this day, I remember people who came for one summer since I started. If I’m being honest, it’s because of all the bonding that high-pressure environments can cause between unlikely individuals.
